a synergy between
traditional yoga, physical therapy and internal martial arts
opening up new levels of experience for the body
Yoga Synergy offers a uinique approach towards restorative movement, based on the synergy between traditional hatha yoga, physical therapy and internal martial arts, which leaves the body energised yet the mind calmer than more conventional forms of yoga or excersize.
This movement systhem can be effectively used as a dynamic meditation. It leads the body and mind through a series of fluid movements that allow the restoration of the native kinetic chains in the body..One of the highlights of the Yoga Synergy method is spinal mobilisation which, with consistent practice, makes the spine stronger, more flexible and resilient to back pain, slumped posture or other modern life ailments.
While teaching Synergy, I combine scientific with traditional yogic principles to induce calmer parasympathetic state and improved circulation of energy and information through the body. As a result it becomes easier to remove the blockages and maybe experience the elusive state of yoga.
Yoga Synergy is suitable for the rehab of injuries, management of chronic conditions as well as a restorative practice for high-impact athletes.

The method is designed by the world-renouned yogis and physiotherapists, Simon Borg-Olivier & Bianca Machliss. After studing extensively will all major teachers of 20th century (Ayengar, Patthabi Jois, Desikachar) they adapted the traditional hatha practice from the line of Krishanamacharya to the modern western body, suffering the demertis of sedentary lifestyle and poor stress management. A more detailed overview of the Yoga Synergy method you can read here.
Currently, Lidia is the only certified Yoga Synergy teacher in Bulgaria, and is very excited to be sharing the gems of this facinating method.

The classes take place at Trifonov Dance Academy on Vardar str 1, in the city center. Its just behind the Mausoleum, next to Raifeisen Bank.
The space is airy and cosy and we’ve got all the props you may need. Let’s explore movement together!
…is a form of movement, breath and posture derived from Ashtanga Vinyasa and Iyengar yoga styles. It also has influences from far eastern yoga traditions such as Tai Chi and Qigong and western medical physiotherapy. The founders of the Yoga Synergy school are based in Sydney Australia, Simon Borg Olivier and Bianca Machliss are also fully qualified exercise based physiotherapists as well as instructors of a combined 50+ years experience.
What makes the style of movement unique is that it incorporates musculoskeletal systems and physiology as a foundation of the teaching style. It is not Synergy’s intention to create a new yoga, or any other physical activity style for that matter, but simply to develop a system of movement which can be applied to various disciplines to improve overall health and longevity.
The classes work on a fundamental sequence which is systematically worked through. This style offers alternatives to make postures suitable for anybody (including those who practice full vinyasa), but it’s particularly beneficial to those who may otherwise have difficulty putting most of their body weight on the hands (as in a pushup for instance).
Each week will be a breakdown of a particular aspect of the practice – certain movements, posture, set of asanas or breathing. For those with an already established yoga practice it will be beneficial to take a fresh approach on applied anatomy in the context of their posture and movement. For beginners its absolutely safe and effective way to increase energy instead of feeling tired or sore, and to improve flexibility without painful stretching.
Most importantly this practice leads to a very calm sense of well-being throughout and following the sessions. Aiming to establish a long running practice which is enjoyable and will lead to long term health for both physical and mental wellbeing.
It is particularly recommended for anybody who wishes to enhance their ability to gain energy from movement patterns of posture. Especially those who have attempted yoga classes in the past but fallen to the common misconception that the poses need to look particular way and ended up sore.
You don’t need to be flexible or strong to get the benefit from these classes. If you have a physical or physiological ailment which you believe will prevent you from being able to participate then there is no need to worry. Due to the nature of instruction you will be guided in a way that will help to heal injuries and conditions that may otherwise prevent you from enjoying the practice and cultivating long term health.
